Buying a Home During COVID

Wanting to buy a home in this time of social-distancing and a tight market?  It can be done.

If you haven’t already, talk to a lender and get a pre-approval letter.  Many sellers are not allowing showings unless buyers submit a pre-approval letter.  No point in wasting anyone's time.

And speaking of showings, here are things the sellers are requiring:

  •     Please view the online virtual tours prior to showings – nearly all listings now have virtual tours posted online with the listing.
  •      Be prepared to see houses live virtually with your agent through an app such as Zoom, Facebook Messenger or Face Time.
  •      Some sellers are allowing showings only after they receive an accepted offer.  That means buyers have to make a decision based on photos and online virtual tours. Buyers are allowed to rescind an offer after they have viewed the property provided the contract is drafted correctly.

If you don’t already have an agent, now is the time to secure one you can trust.  This is not the time to try to purchase a house without an agent!

Be safe!
