Warm Weather Boosts Homes on the Market

It's crazy what a little warm weather and sunshine will do to the housing market!  Like winter residents exploding into the outdoors during warm weather, so too the houses for sale begin to pop up around the area.

Since February 15, the popular Sunset Village and Westmorland neighborhoods have seen nearly ten new listings for houses for sale.  These family friendly, walkable neighborhoods have a good range of options for buyers looking to move into these desirable areas, with these new listings ranging in price from $179,500 - $389,900.

If you look at Nakoma and the Dudgeon-Monroe neighborhoods, we see the same trend.  Nearly 10 new listings have come on the market since February 1.  With a little higher price range ($269,900-$389,900 for these 10 new listings), Nakoma and Dudgeon-Monroe continue to be very sought after areas on the near west side of Madison.

If you are thinking of buying or selling a home this year, follow the lead of these Madison area home owners looking to sell their homes.  Get out there early!

Java Wednesday

It's Java Wednesday! I'm at EVP Coffee House on Minereal Point Rd. every Wednesday morning from 8-9:00 a.m. Join me to talk about the neighborhood, the housing market in Madison or buying or selling a home on the near west side of Madison.

Here's an interesting note about the site of the Mineral Point Rd. EVP Coffee House. Years ago it was a small neighborhood hardware store! For nearly 50 years, Ellis True Value Hardware occupied the space that is now EVP. It was chock full, floor to ceiling, with every type of bolt, nail or tool a handyman could need. It was the "go to" place for neighbors looking to fix a screen or build a fence; a neighborhood place.

It' still a neighborhood place! But residents are now visiting about the latest happenings over coffee rather than wrenches.

Stay tuned for more neighborhood notes about Madison's near west side.

Welcome!

Buying or selling a home is a big decision that requires an intimate knowledge of the niches and nuances of the neighborhood and community.

I grew up on the near west side of Madison and I still live, work and play here.   I am a parent of children who attend both public and private schools on the near west side so I have a distinct view of the community.

Your home is more than bricks and mortar, it characterizes who you are.  It's where you feel most comfortable.  I'd be happy to help you find that comforable place.  Whether you are thinking of buying or selling a home, call me to help you embark on your next adventure.
